Obituary of Ada Tervo Arnheim Ada I. Tervo, 86, a former resident of Arnheim, passed away Tuesday evening, Dec. 2, 2003, at the Mather Nursing Center in Ishpeming where she has been a resident patient since September 25, 2003. The former Ada Irene Rynanen was born on June 15, 1917, in Copper City to the late Yalmer and Elizabeth (Kinnunen) Rynanen, and raised on a farm in Keweenaw Bay. She attended the Keweenaw Bay School, and graduated from the Baraga High School with the Class of 1936,as Valdictorian. Following graduation she was employed at the the former Koski Machine & Repair in Keweenaw Bay. On August 8, 1942, she was united in marriage to Thomas Edwin Tervo, and he preceded her in death on September 21, 1986. She later resided on the Klingville Road in Chassell, and retired to the Arnheim Road. As a farmer's daughter and wife, she helped grow many strawberrues in her life and also appreciated flowers very much. Ada was a former cub scout leader, a 4 H leader, and enjoyed sewing, cooking, and reading. She was committed to her fairth in God her entire life. She was also preceded in death by her parents, and brothers Arne and Arvel Rynanen. Ada was a member of the Chassell Apostolic Lutheran Church, and also attended the Hope Fellowship Church in Houghton. Surviving are: 1 Daughter: Donna (Mel) Karlsen of Battle Ground, Wash. 1 Son: Thomas (Cheryl) Tervo of Arnheim 6 Grandchildren: Eric, Scott (Molly), Ross, Travis (Jennie) and Kara Karlsen all of Washington State Valerie(Thomas)Bates of Washington State. 6 Great Grandchildren 1 Sister: Aileen(Carl) Wysocki of Detrot numerous nieces, nephews, & cousins Funeral services will be held Saturday, Dec. 6, 2003, at 11 A.M. in the Chassell Apostolic Lutheran Church with Don Holombo & Paul Marin to officiate. Burial to be in the Keweenaw Bay Cemetery. Friends may call at the Memorial Chapel Funeral Home in Chassell from 6 to 8 P.M. on Friday and for 1 hour prior to services at the church on Saturday.
