Obituary of Andrew John Haischer Hancock Andrew J. Haischer, 79, a resident of Fir Street, Hancock, passed away late Monday evening February 12, 2007, at the Portage Health Hospital following a short illness. He was born on March 29, 1927, in Hancock, the son of the late Andrew and Irene (O'Leary) Haischer. As a child he attended the Jeffers Schools. Andrew was a veteran having served with the United States Navy during W.W. II and the Korean War. On December 19, 1953, he was united in marriage to the former Ruth V. Moilanen. Mr. Haischer was a member of S.S. Peter and Paul Lutheran Church of Hancock. He was a life member of Bay Post #6028 V.F.W. of Dollar Bay, and a past member of the Hancock Fire Department. Mr. Haischer worked for the Bosch Brewery Company of Houghton, he then worked for the City of Hancock retiring as a Dispatcher/Truck Driver. Andrew also worked for Mercy Ambulance as an EMT for 20 years. Preceding him in death where his parents, a grandson Michael T. Busser and his sister Nancy Gasvoda. Surviving are: His wife Ruth of Hancock 7 Children: Karen Haischer of Hancock John (Julianne) Haischer of the Hancock Canal Jack Haischer of Dollar Bay Sandy Busser of Dollar Bay Laura (Gerald) Kinnunen of Atlantic Mine Jay (Terri) Haischer of Atlantic Mine Sherri (D.J.) Dulong of Franklin Mine 3 Grandsons: Jay Busser, Corbin Haischer, and Andrew Dulong 5 Granddaughters: Heather Busser, Pamela Busser, Hollie Kinnunen, Joy Kinnunen and Vanessa Dulong. 1 Aunt: Rose Jauch of Madison, WI Numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins A memorial service for Andrew will be held 12 noon Saturday February 17, 2007, in the Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Hancock with Revs. David Weber and Robert Paul to officiate. Spring burial will be in the Lakeside Cemetery of Hancock. Friends may call on Saturday from 10 a.m. until time of services at the funeral. In lieu of flowers or other expressions of sympathy the family suggests memorials may be given to S.S. Peter & Paul Lutheran Church of Hancock, The Omega House of Houghton or the charity of ones choice.
