Anita C. Raasio, 85, a former resident of Baraga passed away Wednesday, January 26, 2022, at Canal View – Houghton County in Hancock where she had been a resident patient.
She was born on June 25, 1936, in Laurium, a daughter of the late Markus and Vera (Maki) Martinmaki. Anita was raised in the Calumet area and was a graduate of Calumet High School.
Following High School, Anita had resided in various parts of the country such as Minnesota and Texas before returning to the copper country to help care for her parents.
Mrs. Rassio was a member of the Gospel Hall and enjoyed helping others and spending time with her family.
Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband and her brother Ron Martinmaki
Surviving are:
Her children: Carolyn Larson, Mark Larson, Mike Larson and Susan McFall.
8 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren
Her sisters:
Elaine Bersoza, Clara Huhak, Priscilla Martinmaki and Patricia Landman
Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins
A graveside service for Anita will be held May 26th at 1:00 in the Lakeside Cemetery of Hancock.
