Obituary of Arthur Victor Hynninen Lake Annie Crosscut Arthur V. Hynninen, 83, a resident of Lake Annie passed away Thursday, April 3, 2014, at his home. He was born in Copper City on June 14, 1930, son of Victor and Lyyli (Raade) Hynninen. As a child he moved to the Lake Annie Area and attended the local schools. He was united in marriage to Virginia Taube of Calumet on May 23, 1953 and the couple resided their married lifetime on the Lake Annie Crosscut Road in Hancock where they operated a dairy farm. Art was a member of the First Apostolic Lutheran Church in Houghton. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Preceding him in death were his parents, a sister Gertrude Saarinen, an infant brother and a great granddaughter. Surviving are his wife, Virginia, three daughters, Carol Hokenson of Dollar Bay, Doris (John) Daavettila of Dollar Bay, Sandy (Dean) Anderson of Laurium, two sisters, Elsie Donahue of Madison Heights, Hulda (Stan) Kreus of Livonia, His brother-in-law Jay Saarinen of Dollar Bay, 38 Grandchildren, 74 Great grandchildren, one great great grandson and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. The funeral service for Mr. Hynninen will be at 11 AM Monday at the First Apostolic Lutheran Church in Houghton with Pastor David Taivalkoski officiating. Spring burial will be in the Lakeside Cemetery in Hancock. Visitation will be on Sunday from 1-4 at the church and one hour before the service on Monday.
