Obituary of Arthur J. Michaelson Chassell Arthur J. Michaelson, 73, a resident of Wilson Memorial Dr., Chassell, passed away Sunday afternoon May 6, 2007, at his home with his family at his side, following a lengthy battle with cancer. He was born on December 14, 1933, in Houghton, a son of Saima (Lundy) Michaelson and the late John Michaelson. As a child art attended and graduated from the Houghton schools. Art was a veteran having served with the United States Army. On June 12, 1954, he was united in marriage to the former June Sauvola. Mr. Michaelson was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church of Chassell, the Chassell Lions Club where he served as Strawberry Festival Treasurer for many years, and Post #6507 V.F.W. of Chassell. Art had worked as Manager of the Pelkie Co-Op, and for the Michigan Tech Credit Union, and for a short time at Jarvi's Homecenter. Art loved to spend his free time on the Golf Course. Ted Koehl to officiate. Burial will be in the Chassell Cemetery where Post #6507 V.F.W. of Chassell will hold military rites. Friends may call on Wednesday May 9, 2007, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church of Chassell, and from 10 a.m. until time of the services at the church on Thursday.
