Obituary of Arthur Pelto Houghton Arthur W. Pelto, 81, a resident of Heritage Manor, Houghton, passed away Friday evening, Dec. 26, 2003, at his home following an apparent heart attack. He was born in Boston Location, on May 3, 1922, a son of the late Anton and Ina (Jankala) Pelto and had attended the Cloverland School. In 1961, he moved to the Chicago area, and in 2002 returned to the Copper Country to make his home in Houghton. He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Gladys Lokojarvi. Also preceding him in death were 1 daughter; Sandra Pelto; his parents; 4 Sisters, and 2 Brothers. Surviving are: 1 Daughter: Ms. Sherry Pelto of Chicago 3 Sisters: Mrs. Lillian Heikkinen a resident patient at the Cypress Manor Nursing Home in Hancock Mrs. Sophie Tormala of Boston Location Mrs. Ruth (Clyde) Nikkinen of Toledo, Ohio 1 Brother: Wesley (Arlene) Pelto of Dollar Bay Several nieces, nephews, and cousins Graveside services will be held in the spring in the Waasa Cemetery.
