Obituary of Arthur W. Pietila Chassell Arthur W. Pietila, 74, a resident of Chassell unexpectedly passed away Wednesday evening July 30, 2008, at the Portage Health Hospital shortly after being admitted. He was born on January 1, 1934, in Highland Park, MI, a son of the late John and Jennie (Heinonen) Pietila. Art has resided in Southfield, South Lyon, and in retirement since 1995 made his home in Chassell. On November 27, 1953, he was united in marriage to the former Ruth Huotari. Art had worked as a clay modeler for Ford. Mr. Pietila was a member of the First Apostolic Lutheran Church of Houghton. Preceding him in death were his parents, a step-mother; Julia, his brothers; Chester, Wesley, Carl, Peter, and his daughter-in-law: Pamela. Burial will be in the Atlantic Mine Cemetery. Friends may call on Friday August 1, 2008, from 2 to 8 p.m. at the First Apostolic Lutheran Church of Houghton and on Saturday from 10 a.m. until time of services at the church in Calumet.
