Obituary of Arthur Ruska Chassell Arthur E. Ruska, 73, a resident of Broemer Rd., Chassell, passed away Friday June 16, 2006, at the Marquette General Hospital where he had been a resident patient for the past month. He was born on October 5, 1932, in Portage Township, a son of the late Waino and Dorothy (Etapa) Ruska. Art was a graduate of the Houghton High School and attended Technical Schools in the Milwaukee area. On August 1, 1959, he was united in marriage to the former Josette Moore. Art and Josette had resided in the Milwaukee area for most of their lifetime returning to make their home on Broemer Rd. this past year. While living in Milwaukee, Art had worked as a maintenance man for an apartment complex. Mr. Ruska was a veteran having served in the United Sates Army during the Korean War. Art enjoyed helping children by being a 4-H leader in Milwaukee and being one of the Superintendent's of the Milwaukee County 4-H Fair. Preceding him in death were his parents and 1 brother: James. Surviving are: His wife: Josette of Chassell 3 Children: Denise (Paul Stone) Ruska of Chassell Robert (Barbara) Ruska of Milwaukee, WI Tracy Ruska of Milwaukee, WI 3 Grandchildren: Robert Jr., Tabatha, and James 2 Brothers: Norman (Dolores) Ruska of Warren, MI Harold (Lillian) Ruska of Conway, S.C. 1 Sister: Rachele Lambert of Chassell A special aunt: Eleanore Lange of Grand Rapids, MI Numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins A memorial service for Art will be held 11 A.M. this Wednesday June 21, 2006, in the Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Chassell with Rev. Ted Koehl of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church of Chassell and Sister Ellen Enright of St. Anne's Catholic Church of Chassell to officiate. Burial will be in the Forest Hill Cemetery of Houghton where the Copper Country Veteran's Association will hold military rites. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 10 A.M. until time of the services. In lieu of flowers or other expressions of sympathy the family suggests that memorials may be given to Beacon House in Marquette, or to the Portage Pointe Wellness Garden in Hancock in memory of Arthur Ruska.
