Obituary of Barbara Elizabeth Brusorio HoughtonBarbara E. Brusorio, 86, a resident of the Bluffs Senior Living Community and former Hancock resident passed away Sunday Morning, April 24, 2016 at Cypress Manor following a short illness.She was born on November 13, 1929, in Hancock a daughter of the late Russell and Evelyn (Kersila) Liimatta. Barb was a graduate of the Hancock High School.On March 8, 1951, she was united in marriage to Alfred "Babe" Brusorio and on July 21, 2008, he preceded her in death.Barbara had work at the Houghton County Memorial Airport and retired from the State of Michigan, where she had worked as a secretary. In her spare time, Barbara enjoyed caring for her flower garden, traveling and going to the casino.Mrs. Brusorio was a member of Church of the Resurrection Catholic Church of Hancock. Preceding her in death were her husband, her parents, her brothers; Clifford, Wallace and Clyde and her sister Marie Burns.Surviving are: Her children: Debra Manninen of Escanaba, MI Diane (Robert) Stites of Hancock Michael Brusorio of Acworth, GAHer grandchildren: David Manninen, Matthew Manninen and Angela StitesHer sister: Judy Taylor of Calgary, CanadaSeveral nieces, nephews, and cousinsA Mass of Christian Burial for Barbara will be held Friday, April 29th at 11 am at Church of the Resurrection Catholic Church of Hancock with Fr. William Ssozi to celebrate.
