Obituary of Bertha E. Carlson Dollar Bay Bertha E. (Wesley) Carlson, 84, a resident of Fir Ave., Dollar Bay passed away Wednesday December 21, 2005, at the Omega House in Houghton where she had been a resident for the past three weeks. She was born on July 25, 1921, in Dollar Bay, a daughter of the late John and Anna (Ostrand) Nordbeck. As a child she attended the Dollar Bay Schools. On November 14, 1942 she was united in marriage to Wesley Carlson. Bertha was a member of Bethany Baptist Church of Dollar Bay and a former member of the Order of Runneberg Lodge #8 of Dollar Bay and Bay Post #6028 V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary of Dollar Bay. Preceding her in death was a grand daughter Melanie Carlson, her parents 6 Brothers: Edwin, Emil, Alfred, Adolph "Spike", Raymond, Einar and 4 Sisters: Edith, Dorthy, Florence, and Edna. Surviving are: Her husband: Wesley 2 Sons: Gerald (Gail) Carlson of Marquette Raymond Carlson of Negaunee 2 Daughters: Gail Joyal of Dollar Bay Carol (Steve) Koss of Negaunee 5 Grandchildren: Jason & Christopher Carlson, and Jennifer, Thomas & Lenora Joyal Several nieces, nephews, and cousins Funeral services for Bertha will be held 2 P.M. Friday December 23, 2005, at Bethany Baptist Church of Dollar Bay with Rev. Brian Knight to officiate. Spring burial will be in the Lakeview Cemetery of Calumet. Friends may call at the church on Friday from 12 noon until time of services.
