Obituary of Betty Jane Hall Hancock Betty Jane Hall, 71, a resident of Hancock passed away Sunday morning November 27, 2011, at the Portage Health Systems in Hancock after a courageous battle with cancer. Betty was born February 20, 1940, in Houghton, a daughter of Wilbur and Alma (Gaggini) Hall. She attended Houghton High School graduating with the class of 1958. Betty worked for 36 years at Houghton National Bank as secretary to the president, never having missed a day of work in all those years. Betty resided most of her life in Houghton except for the past 8 years when she lived on Lake Street in Hancock with her beloved dogs Shane and Panda. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Frank Herveat. Betty is survived by her brother Ed (Lillian) Hall of Chassell, Sister-in-law Barbara (Paul) Horton of Houghton, Niece Pam (Eric) Mertz of Webster, NY, Nephew Scott Hall of Tamarack City and Frank (Marilyn) Herveat of Marquette, grandniece Bridget Hall and grandnephews Daniel Hall , Kyle & Aaron Mertz and Derek Herveat and cousins. She is also survived by her good friends Mary & Margaret Lombardi. At the request of the deceased, there will be no visitation or funeral service. Spring burial will be in the Forest Hill Cemetery of Houghton. Memorials in Betty's name can be made to the Copper Country Humane Society or K-Snag.
