Obituary of Brenhilde Alice Homola Hancock Alice Brenhilde Homola, 87, a resident of Hancock passed away Sunday May 14, 2017, at UP Health - Portage Hospital following a short illness. Alice was born on October 23, 1929 in Detroit, MI, the daughter of the late Alfred and Ebba (Puranen) Johnston. She was raised in Chassell and Traprock and attended both Chassell and Traprock Schools. Alice was united in marriage to Raymond Tervo and raised 4 children together. Raymond preceded her in death in June of 2001. Alice was later united in marriage to Archie Homola. Together they were members of the Old Apostolic Lutheran Church of Hancock. Alice enjoyed cooking, reading, gardening and spending time with her family and friends who she will be greatly missed by. Besides her parents and her first husband, Alice was preceded in death by her three brothers; Howard Johnston, Al Johnston and Paul Johnston. Surviving Alice are her Husband Archie of Hancock, Her Children; Valerie(John) Mehner of Laurium, Tom(Jane) Tervo of Battleground, WA, Kathi(Frank) Hammerstrom of Battleground, WA, Janice(John) Obee of Farmington Hills, MI 18 grandchildren and 43 great- grandchildren. Her sisters; Elaine LaPorte, Norma(Ray) McClellan, Dorothy(Ron) Halberg, Her brothers; Jack(Elaine)Johnston and Larry(Paula) Johnston. Archie's Children; Kevin(Janice) Homola of Novi, MI Shari(Paul) Muonio of Battleground, WA Brenda(Mike) Bunn of Minneapolis, MN Laura(Ski) Mcray of Minneapolis, MN Maria(Jason) McFarland of Kalispell, MT Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, step-grandchildren and friends. Funeral Services for Alice will be held 11am Friday, May 19, 2017 at the Old Apostolic Lutheran Church of Hancock with Ronald Jouppe to officiate. Visitation will be held Thursday May 18, 2017 from 5pm to 8pm at the Old Apostolic Lutheran Church in Hancock.
