Otter Lake

     Brian E. Heikkila, 48, a resident of Otter Lake passed away Sunday, September 10, 2023, at his home in Otter Lake.
     He was born on January 12, 1975, in Hancock, a son of Dennis Heikkila and Mary Ellen Heikkinen.  
     Brian was raised in Tapiola and was a graduate of the Houghton High School.
     Mr. Heikkila had worked for various construction companies in the area.  He enjoyed time in the outdoors hunting, fishing and spending time with family and friends.  Brian was a member of the Otter Lake Sportsman’s Club.
     Preceding him in death were his brother Randy Ruska, his grandparents, along with other relatives.
     Surviving are: His father: Dennis (Lori) Heikkila of Tapiola; His mother: Mary Ellen (Alan Ollanketo) Heikkinen of Elo; brothers and sister: Jason (Katie Keranen) Heikkila of Tapiola, Jodi Heikkila of Elo, & Nick Heikkila of Tapiola; uncles: Mike (Elma) Heikkinen & Tommy (Jan) Heikkinen; nieces and nephews: Sydney, Jadyn, Dhane, Dorian, Dexter and Ruthie; great nieces and nephews: Riley, Walker, Sutton, & Lincoln;  Fur dog nephew and best buddy - Levi; numerous cousins and friends
    A memorial service for Brian will be held 1:00pm Friday, September 15, 2023, at the Memorial Chapel Funeral & Cremation Service - Mt. View Chapel of South Range with Pastor Jesse Aho to officiate.  Burial will be in the Elo Cemetery at a later date.
    Friends may call on Friday, September 15, 2023, from 11:00 am until time of services at the Memoril Chapel Funeral & Cremation Service - Mt. View Chapel of South Range.
