Obituary of Brian Walman HoughtonBrian J Walman 52 a resident of Houghton passed away unexpectedly at his home Friday January 27, 2012.He was born on August 17 in Battle Creek, MI, son of Myra (Wirtanen) and the late Russell Walman.He attended Lakeview High School in Battle Creek and following graduation enlisted in the U.S. army.Brian had lived in Houston Texas and Kalamazoo MI for many years before making his home in the "copper country." He loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing with his nephews and cousins.Preceding him in death were his father. Brother, Russell, sister, Deborah, maternal and paternal grandparents.Surviving are his mother of Houghton, daughters, Baylee and Avery of Portage, MI, his sister, Melanie Scott and nephews Michael and Bruce Scott of Eaton, Co and niece Linzy Monticello of Hancock.Aunts Arlene Walman, Myrna Oja several cousins and families.A memorial service for Brian will be held 11 am Saturday June 23, 2012, at the Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Hancock with Rev. David Weber to officate.
