Obituary of Bruce McCormick Sault Ste. Marie/ Houghton Bruce Anthony McCormick of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan passed away Monday April 6, 2015 at Tendercare Nursing Home. Bruce was born October 1, 1952 in Hancock, Michigan the son of Andrew and Bernice McCormick. He was a graduate of St. Ignatius, Houghton High School; Michigan Tech. University and Suomi College with a degree in liberal arts. He had been employed at Andy's Superette in Hurontown and later became a dispatcher for Houghton Transit. One could usually locate Bruce sparking up a conversation about the wins and loses of any sporting event, especially the Green Bay Packers. From that point on , he would always remember your name. You would be his friend forever. Bruce was a long term resident of Tendercare, he served as president for Tendercare's resident council for many years. He enjoyed all social events and could always be found tapping his toes to the music. Bruce is survived by friends Chad DePetro, Susie Boxer and his very best friend Cole DePetro.A Mass of Christian burial for Bruce was held April 9, 2015, at St. Mary's ProCathedral in Sault Ste. Marie, MI. The Clark Baily New House Funeral Home assisted with the mass.Spring burial will be held at a later time in the Lakeview Cemetery of Calumet.
