Obituary of Calvin Junttonen Highway Location Calvin C.Junttonen, 65, a resident of Highway Location, passed away suddenly, at his home Sunday evening November 14, 2004. He was born on June 14, 1939, in Painesdale a son of the late Waino and Irene (Alaniva) Junttonen. As a child he attended the Jeffer's School's. Calvin was a veteran of over 20 years having served 2 tours in Viet Nam with the United States Navy. After he retired from the Navy Calvin moved back to the Copper Country and was employed at Great Lakes Plastics for 10 years. On October 28, 1978, he was united in marriage to the former Kathleen Frandy and she preceded him in death on November 24, 1999. Mr. Junttonen was a member of National Lutheran Church of Calumet and the Boston Volunteer Fire Department. Calvin will always be remembered as a people person willing to give a helping hand to anyone who asked. Also preceding him in death was a sister Violet Kuusisto. Surviving are: 2 Sisters: Lois (Wester) Rintala of Tapiola Laurian (Ron) Osentowski of Kenosha, WI 1 Half-Sister: Neldine (Bruce) Smith of West Bend, IN 1 Brother: Earl (MaryAnn) Junttonen of Painesdale 1 Half-Brother: Vernon (Donna) Harju of Kokkomo, IN Several nieces, nephews, and cousins Funeral services for Calvin will be 11 A.M. Thursday November 18, 2004, in the National Lutheran Church of Calumet with the Rev. Roger Quandt to officiate. Burial to be in the Lakeside Cemetery in Hancock. Friends may call at the Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Hancock on Wednesday from 5 to 8 P.M. and for 1 hour prior to the services at the church on Thursday.
