Obituary of Carl Nordstrom Chassell Carl (Sonny) Nordstrom, 70, a resident of Chassell, passed away at home, of an apparent heart attack early Monday morning October 22, 2012. He was born on June 5, 1942, in Detroit, MI, a son of the late Paul and Laila (Heikkinen) Nordstrom. He spent most of his life residing between Elo and the Detorit area until his retirement when he moved to make his home in Chassell. Carl was active in the area, currently he was president of Post #6507 V.F.W. Men's Auxiliary of Chassell, Treasurer of the Men's golf league for the Wyandotte Hills Golf Club, and also was a member of the Otter Lake Sportsman's Club. He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Mary Lee Tormala Soumis Nordstrom of Chassell. His son Mark (Tammy) Nordstrom of Macomb, MI and their children Zachary and Jacob, his son Steven Nordstrom of Sterling Heights, MI, his son Kevin (Davina) Nordstrom of Macomb, MI, and their children, Kollin, Kourtney, and Kyle, his step-daughter; Suzanne (Kevin) Keranen of Marion, WI, and their children Venn, Zane and Shawna, his step-daughter; Amy Soumis of Sun City, AZ, and her children Fields and Willow, his brother, George (Ann) Nordstrom of Sterling Heights, MI, and their children Lexie, Patrick & Nathan, along with many good friends and extended family. Funeral services for Carl will be held 11 am Thursday October 25, 2012, at the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church of Chassell with Rev. Ted Koehl to officiate. Burial will be in the Elo Cemetery.
