Obituary of Carol Zenner MRS HurontownCarol J. Zenner, 68, a resident of Hurontown passed away Thursday evening February 27, 2014, at the Marquette General Hospital following a lengthy illness.She was born on May 31, 1945, in Hancock, a daughter of the late Walter and Ethel (Lampinen) Korpinen. Carol was raised in Atlantic Mine, Hancock and South Range. She graduated with honors from Jeffers High School.On February 8, 1964, she was united in marriage to Frederick M. Zenner. Since that time they have resided in Hurontown where they raised three children.Mrs. Zenner was a member of St. Ignatius Loyola Catholic Church of Houghton. As a young lady, Carol worked for South Range State Bank, Jims II, the Ambassador Restaurant and retired from the deli department of Econo Foods.. Carol was an excellent cook and seamstress, but baking was her specialty. She once was named Baker of the Year for Michigan. She also enjoyed spending time outdoors bird hunting with her husband and traveling.Preceding her in death were her parents.Surviving are: Her husband: Fred Zenner of HurontownHer children: Scott Zenner of HurontownRobert Zenner and special friend Amie of Lake LindenCatherine (Shawn Peterson) Zenner of Hurontown5 grandchildren & 7 great grandchildren2 aunts & 1 uncleHer step-father: Robert Hoffenbecker of Hancock CanalHer step-brothers: Bruce (Mary) Hoffenbecker of Twin LakesCurt (Barbara) Hoffenbecker of Hancock Numerous cousinsA private family prayer service for Carol will be held at a later time with Fr. John Martignon to officiate.
