Obituary of Caroline Messner Houghton Caroline M. (Archambeau) Messner, 75, a resident of Houghton, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, April 26, 2013. Caroline was born on September 18, 1937 in Chassell, Michigan, a daughter of the late Ernest and Laura (Perrow) Archambeau. She attended the Jeffers schools. On June 1, 1957, she married Alvord F. Messner. He preceded her in death on January 15, 1979. Caroline was also preceded in death by her father, Ernest and her mother Laura. Caroline worked as a waitress at the Venice Café. More recently, she worked as a home health care provider for various area home health businesses. Caroline is survived by her brother Stanley (Linda) Archambeau and her sisters Patricia (Jerome) Barrette, Nancy Archambeau, Theresa (Ronald) Kokkonen, her son Alan Messner of Houghton, and daughters Carol Messner of Green Bay, WI, Connie (Vito) Pizzitola, Valerie Pitts, Wendy Messner, grandchildren Robin and James Pitts all of Aurora, Colorado. A memorial mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 30, 2013 at the St. Ignatius Loyola Catholic church in Houghton with Fr. John Martignon to officiate. Friends and family may call at the churchfrom 10am - 11am on Tuesday. At the request of Caroline Messner, please do not send or bring flowers.
