Obituary of Catherine Datto MRS BalticCatherine "Katie" Datto, 94, a former resident of Baltic passed away Tuesday morning March 4, 2014, at Woodland Haven of the Houghton County Medical Care Facility in Hancock, where she had been a resident patient for the past 10 years.She was born on April 3, 1919, in Painesdale, a daughter of the late Anton and Anna (Sikonya) Pintar. She attended the Painesdale School. In January of 1940, she was united in marriage to Tony Datto. The couple moved to South Range and were raising four children when he suddenly preceded her in death on December 13, 1955.Katie worked for many years as a clerk for Kivi's IGA and Paoli's Market in South Range.Mrs. Datto was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church of South Range where she was active with the Altar Society. She was a member of F.O.E. Aerie #1122 of South Range where she would help with bingo and the Daughters of Italy. She was an avid Detroit Red Wing's fan and loved to bowl.Preceding her in death were her husband, her parents, 2 brothers and 3 sisters. Surviving are: Her children: Tony (Bonnie) Datto of South RangeMaria (Robert) Chase of Appleton, WI Kathy (Russ) DeForge of South RangeJean (Rick) Stevens of South Range16 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren and 8 great great grandchildrenHer sister: Mary Bianchi of ChassellNumerous nieces & nephewsA Mass of Christian Burial for Katie will be held 11 am Friday, March 7, 2014, at Holy Family Catholic Church of South Range with Fr. John Martignon to celebrate. Spring burial will be in the Mt.
