Cathleen Truchan, 69, a resident of Houghton, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, December 2, 2022.

Cathy was born on June 9, 1953, to the late Frederick and Theresa (Goulette) Zerbst. Cathy was a quiet, gentle person who never wanted to bother anyone. Yet, she was passionate about caring for the elderly and was a fierce advocate for putting their comfort and care above all else. She made life-long family friends throughout her journey as a caregiver for their loved ones. Cathy will be deeply missed.

Cathy is survived by her siblings: Diane (Charles) Saari, Fred Zerbst, and Mary (William) Stevens.

Her daughters: Jennifer Avery and Theresa Truchan.

Grandchildren: Brandon, Tyler, Alexander, and Victoria (Kurtis).

Great-grandchildren: Elliot, Toby, and Liam

Numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A special thank you to Michelle, Bill, family, and dear friends. Recognition for the services and compassion shown by Lt. Nick Roberts, Judy Pruner, Joe Bianucci, first responders, and Joe Rivest who always went above and beyond. The family would further like to thank the Rice House, Canal View, The Douglass House, and countless others who helped Cathy and her family. Cathy was so happy to have found so many new friends. We are truly grateful for all the love and support we have received.

At Cathy’s request, no service will take place, but prayers will always be appreciated.
