Charles C. Duxbury, 65, a resident of Atlantic Mine, passed away on Friday, May 12, 2023, at his home following a courageous battle with cancer.

 

Chuck was born on October 6, 1957, in Hancock, the son of the late Clayton and Virginia (Isaacson) Duxbury. He was raised locally and graduated from the Houghton High School with the class of 1975. Following school, Chuck began working for the Copper Country Medical Center before his career as a housekeeper for Portage Health, where he retired in May of 2022.

 

Chuck enjoyed travelling, especially downstate and to Arizona to visit friends. He was an excellent gardener and was as meticulous at housekeeping at home as he was at work. He was a friend to everyone and will be missed by all.

 

Besides his parents, Chuck was preceded in death by a brother, Robert and a brother-in-law, Brian Gasperich.

 

He is survived by his siblings, Susan Duxbury, Charlene (Tony) Roy, Marguerite Gasperich, and Gretchen (Eugene) Provost.

His nephews, Chris (Shelley) Roy and Philip Roy; Numerous cousins, friends, his cat Snowball, and special friend Anne Weidenborner.

 

A time to remember Chuck will take place from 3 to 5 pm Saturday, May 20, 2023, at the Memorial Chapel Funeral Home in South Range.
