Obituary of Cheryl Bibbs Lower Pewabic Cheryl A. Bibbs, 48, a resident of Lower Pewabic, passed away Tuesday afternoon October 4, 2011, at the Omega House in Houghton following a short illness. She was born on November 24, 1962 in Detroit, Michigan, and was raised by the former Ferris and Mabel (Fifield) Snover. Cheryl was united in marriage to Chuck Schomaker in 1979 and the couple had resided in Farmington Hills, MI, Chicago, IL and San Diego, CA before they parted in 1990. Cheryl moved to lower Michigan and was united in marriage to Robin Cowger in 1991 and he preceded her in death in 2001. Cheryl then moved to the Copper Country and was united in marriage to Jim Bibbs and after a time together they parted ways. Ms. Bibbs had worked for several nursing facilities in lower Michigan and locally for Cypress Manor, Portage Pointe and private home care as a CNA. Cheryl loved to spend time with her grandchildren. Surviving are: Her daughters: Valerie Schomaker of Houghton Jodi Schomaker of Milwaukee, WI Her grandchildren: Sean and Charles Goldstein, and Della and Levi Lypsinmaa Her sweetheart and companion of 7 years: David Lypsinmaa of Lower Pewabic Her sisters: Sandy (Bill) Bellairs of Harrison, MI Nan (Dave) Mitchell of Newaygo, MI Her brother: Kenny Bellairs of Fenton, MI Numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. As requested, a private memorial service for Cheryl will be held at a later date.
