Obituary of Clarice Narhi HancockClarice A. Narhi, 75, a former resident of San Dimas, CA, and presently of Hancock, went to be with the Lord Monday October 22, 2012, at the Portage Hospital in Hancock following a lengthy illness.She was born on August 27, 1937, in Tamarack City a daughter of the late Arvid and Lena (Oja) Narhi. She attended the Tamarack City School and graduated from the Dollar Bay High School with the class of 1955.In 1967, she moved to California, residing in Los Angeles and San Gabriel Valley for 30 years. In April of 2010, Clarice moved to Hancock.Ms. Narhi had been employed with Michigan Bell Telephone Company as a telephone operator and then for Pacific Telephone Company while residing in California.Clarice was an avid bowler and enjoyed many 200 games. She also enjoyed arts and crafts. She taught Sunday School while she resided in Hubbell and California, for the 4 and 5 year old children.Preceding her in death were her parents, her brothers; Henry Narhi, Reino Narhi, Donald Narhi, Victor Narhi and her sisters; Lena Narhi, Esther Linja and Jean Narhi.Surviving are: Several nieces, nephews, and cousins.Funeral service for Clarice will be held 11 am Friday October 26, 2012, at the Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Hancock with Rev. D.J. Rasner to officiate. Burial will be in the Lakeview Cemetery of Calumet.
