Obituary of Clifford Pyykkonen Paavola Clifford Pyykkonen, 88, a former resident of Paavola & Mohawk passed away Wednesday morning March 5, 2008, at the Houghton County Medical Care Facility in Hancock where he had been a resident patient for the past 13 years. He was born on April 19, 1919, in Paavola Location, a son of the late David and Albina (Osterberg) Pyykkonen. As a child he attended the Arcadian School. Mr. Pyykkonen had worked for the Quincy Mining Company, Copper Range Railroad, the family farm and in the Detroit area. Preceding him in death where his parents; his brothers; Wayne, Raymond, Rudolph, and Eino, and his sisters: Irene, Bertha, Signe, and Betty. Surviving are: His brother: Arthur (Ruth) Pyykkonen of Ironwood, MI His sister: Dorothy (William) Lampinen of Coburntown His daughter: Jean Butler of Hubbell His grandchildren: Robert (Shelly) Rule of Hubbell Kym Rule of Washington, D.C. Gregory (Joann) Rule of Lake Linden Kaye Crouch of Lake Linden Cindy Kauthen of Laurium Michael Kauthen of Elizabethton, TN 9 Great Grandchildren Numerous nieces and nephews Funeral services for Clifford will be held 11 a.m. Monday March 24, 2008, at the Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Hancock with Rev. Elmer Liimatta to officiate. Spring burial will be in the Lakeside Cemetery of Hancock. Friends may call on Monday March 24, 2008, from 10 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home.
