David Aittama

David C. Aittama, 65, a resident of Chassell passed away Monday, September 12, 2022, at the Omega House in Houghton following a short illness.

He was born on August 21, 1957, in Detroit, MI, a son of the late Philip and Lucille (Nelson) Aittama. David was raised in the Detroit area and was a graduate of Redford Union High School with the class of 1975. After high school, David moved to Chassell to make his home. He attended Michigan Technological University where he graduated with a degree in Civil Engineering.

Mr. Aittama was a veteran having served with the United States Army.

Mr. Aittama then had worked for the State of Michigan retiring as a Road Construction Inspector. He enjoyed woodworking and home remodeling projects.

A graveside service for David will be held 1:00 pm Friday, September 16, 2022, at the Elo Cemetery with Rev. Soren Schmidt to officiate. Military honors will be conducted by the Copper Country Veterans Association.

The family would like to thank the staff at the UP Health System - Portage Dialysis for the compassionate care given to David during his time with them.
