Obituary of David Krym Chassell David C. Krym, 74, a resident of US HWY 41 Chassell, passed away at home Friday morning January 4, 2013, following a lengthy battle with cancer. He was born on June 13, 1938, in Hancock, MI, a son of the late Carl E. and Elma M. (Kaare) Krym. As a child he moved with his family to Detroit and graduated from Frank Cody High School with the class of 1956. He later received his BSE degree from Lawrence Tech in 1960. He then went on to work for GE on Polaris Submarines before returning to school to graduate from Purdue University with a Masters Degree. David was then employed with Industrial Nucleonics/Accuray in Ohio. He then moved to the Copper Country where he retired in 2000 from the Michigan Technological University Library. Mr. Krym enjoyed sports through the years, such as golf, tennis, and playing in various softball leagues in the Houghton and Ontonagon counties. He was a Boy Scout Leader in the Houghton area for a number of years. Since high school he enjoyed being a amateur Ham Radio Operator (W8NA). David also enjoyed traveling being able to visit various parts of Europe, the Middle East, and parts of the United States. In 1984, he was united in marriage to the former Jean Hammary.
