Obituary of Dennis John Lorenz Twin Lakes/Tucson, AZ Dennis J. Lorenz, 71, a resident of Twin Lakes and Tucson, AZ, passed away Friday July 3, 2015, at the Casa De La Luz Inpatient Hospice, in Tucson, AZ, following a short illness. He was born on December 16, 1943, in Chassell, a son of the late William Bill and Glennis (Collette) Lorenz. As a child, the family moved to Trimountain and Dennis graduated from the Jeffers High School with the class of 1963. On July 18, 1964, he was united in marriage to the former Rita Lindeman. Dennis had worked in the Painesdale Mine for a few years before moving to the Detroit area. He then had worked in an oil refinery before beginning a career for Detroit Diesel, retiring after 25 years as a Manufacturing Engineer. The couple then moved to Grayling before returning to the Copper Country to spend their summers and falls, while they wintered in Tucson. Dennis was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in South Range, a former 32nd Degree Mason. Dennis truly loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing and working on projects. He always enjoyed helping all of his friends and relatives with any projects they might have. He also enjoyed traveling with his wife. Preceding him in death were his daughter Joelle Bowling, his parents, his brothers Gary and Roger; his sister Pat Vonada, his nephew Gregg Vonada and his father-in-law Floyd Lindeman. His great grandchildren: Kendall, Brylee and Matthew His brothers: William (Ruth) Lorenz of Rohnert Park, CA Randy (Carole) Lorenz of Kingsford Edward (Mary Jane) Lorenz of Marquette His mother-in-law: Margaret Lindenman of Houghton His sisters-in-law: Christine Ahola of Hancock Betty Lorenz of Corona, CA Several nieces, nephews, and cousins A Mass of Christian Burial for Dennis will be held 11 am Friday July 10, 2015 at Holy Family Catholic Church of South Range with Fr. John Martignon to officiate. Burial will be in the Woodland Cemetery of Winona. Friends may call on Thursday July 9, 2015, from 4 to 7 pm at the Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Hancock, where a prayer service will be held at 4PM.
