Obituary of Donald Sohlden Chassell Donald P. Sohlden, 65, a resident of Snake River Hill, Chassell, suddenly passed away November 16, 2003, at the Portage Hospital from an apparent Heart attack. He was born in Laurium on September 26, 1938, to Verdi and Mina (Peterson) Sohlden. Don graduated from the Chassell High School with the class of 1957, from 1961- 1963 was with the United States Army where he was stationed in Nurnberg, Germany. For 33 years Don worked as a Chemical operator for Hercules Inc. in Milwaukee, WI, retiring in 2001 when he moved back to the Chassell area. On September 5, 1964, he was united in marriage to the former Patricia Kari. Don was a member of the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church of Chassell and the Otter Lake Sportsmens Club. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, his quick wit and sense of humor will always be remembered. Preceding him in death were his parents, a sister: Ruth and a brother, Kenneth. Surviving are: his loving wife and best friend Patricia Sohlden of Chassell, his beloved son: Brian (Suzanne) Sohlden of West Allis, WI, 2 Grandchildren: Brad and Erik 1 Brother: Robert (Shirley) Sohlden of Hancock 2 Sisters: Elaine (Bob) Jones of Shelby Township Rita (Paul) Tervo of Sterling Heights, MI 2 Sister-in-law :Laverne (Grady) Morris of Panama City Beach, FL Margaret Sohlden of Calumet numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends Funeral services for Don will be held on Friday, November 21, 2003, at 11 A.M. at the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church of Chassell, with the Rev. Ted Koehl to officiate. Following the Funeral service the Copper Country Veterans Association will hold Military rites for Don at the church. Burial to be in the Lake View Cemetery of Calumet. Friends may call from 5 to 8 P.M. on Thursday November 20, 2003, at the Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Chassell and from 10 A.M. until time of services at the church on Friday.
