Donna Jean Karvonen

Painesdale

     Donna Jean (Pelto) Karvonen, 82, a resident of Painesdale, passed away Saturday, July 22, 2022, at Aspirus Keweenaw Hospital following a short illness.

Donna was born on March 30, 1941, in Hancock, MI, and resided for most of her Life in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.

On December 28, 1962, she was united in marriage to Rudolph Karvonen.  On January 12, 1995, Rudy preceded Donna in death.

Donna was famous for her homemade pasties and loved sharing them with family and friends.  She enjoyed making everyone laugh as she told her jokes.  Mrs. Karvonen was a proud lifetime member of Rangers Post #6165 VFW Auxiliary of South Range.

Preceding her in death were her husband, her daughter Karen Sleeman, and her parents.

Surviving are: Her daughter: Tammy (Ken) Christiansen; Her son: Dale (Todd Taskila) Karvonen; Her son-in-law: Paul Sleeman; 5 grandchildren; Her sister: Ella (Bob) Saveland; Several nieces nephews and cousins

A graveside service for Donna will be held 2:30 pm Friday July 28, 2023, at the Atlantic Mine Cemetery with Rev. Bucky Beach to officiate.
