Obituary of Dorothy Irene Peterson Houghton Dorothy I. Peterson, 84, a former resident of Edwards St., Houghton, passed away early Monday morning February 5, 2007, at the Houghton County Medical Care Facility in Hancock where she had been a resident patient for over the past 18 months. Mrs. Peterson was born on October 16, 1922, in Hancock a daughter of the late Thomas and Mary (Dunstan) Davey. Dorothy was a graduate of the Houghton High School and life long resident of Houghton until becoming a resident patient at the Houghton County Medical Care Facility. On October 12, 1946, she was united in marriage to Ralph Peterson and he preceded her in death on February 18, 1989. Mrs. Peterson had worked as a supervisor for Michigan Bell. Dorothy was a member of Grace United Methodist Church of Houghton. She loved to skate especially with the senior citizens which she continued into her 70's. With the senior citizens she would participate each year with the local skating show skating during the intermissions. Each summer she enjoyed to spend time at her cottage in Twin Lakes. Surviving are: Her son: Thomas Peterson of Hancock 1 Grandson: Dustin Peterson of Dollar Bay Numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins Funeral services for Dorothy will be held at 11 a.m. this Thursday February 8, 2007, in the Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Hancock with Rev. Thomas Anderson to officiate. Spring burial will be in the Forest Hill Cemetery of Houghton. Friends may call on Wednesday February 7, 2007, at the Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Hancock from 4 to 8 P.M. and on Thursday from 10 a.m. until time of the services.
