Effie V. Hallstrom, 102, passed away peacefully at the Franklin House of Portage Pointe in Hancock, where she was a resident for six months.
She was born on October 26, 1915, in Hancock, the daughter of August and Sandra Simonson.
On May 30, 1938, she was married to Matt Hallstrom of Chatham, Michigan where she resided for 60 years.
She is survived by her daughter Margaret Ann, Sister Lempi Hanson, and sister-in-law Aune Hallstrom and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, four brothers, Walfred, Charles, Eino and John; two sisters Hilda Wantaja and Anna Aili.
She was a lifelong member of the Old Apostolic Lutheran Church.
Funeral services for Effie will be held 1:00 pm Wednesday, January 3, 2018, at the Old Apostolic Lutheran Church of Hancock with Steve Korpela to officiate.
Spring burial will be in the Pine Grove Cemetery of Chatham, Michigan.
Friends may call on Wednesday, January 3, 2018, from 11:00 am until time of services at the Old Apostolic Lutheran Church of Hancock.
