Obituary of Eleanor Rissanen Atlantic Mine Eleanor E. Rissanen, 90, a resident of Atlantic Mine, passed away Wednesday morning September 30, 2009, at the Cypress Manor Nursing Home in Hancock where she had been a patient for over the past three weeks. She was born on March 25, 1919, in Atlantic Mine, a daughter of the late Fred and Aline (Saarrinen) Niskey. Eleanor was a graduate of the South Range Schools and attended Soumi College. On July 15, 1961, she was united in marriage to Einard "Butch" Rissanen and he preceded her in death on September 29, 1999. Mrs. Rissanen had worked as a teller and bookkeeper for Houghton National Bank retiring in 1974 after 28 years. Eleanor was a lifelong member of Our Savior Lutheran Church of Atlantic Mine. Surviving are: Her niece: Diane (Henry) Wessel of Addison, IL 3 great nieces and nephews: Henry (Julie) Wessel Laura (Tom) Takasaki Aline (Adam) Cox 4 great great nieces and nephews Funeral services for Eleanor will be held 1 pm Monday October 5, 2009, at Our Saviors Lutheran Church of Atlantic Mine with Rev. Bucky Beach to officiate. Burial will be in the Atlantic Mine Cemetery. Friends may call on Monday October 5, 2009, from 12 noon until time of services at the church.
