Obituary of Eleanor Viola Chassell Eleanor Viola, 84, a former resident of Chassell, passed away Wednesday July 29, 2009, at the Houghton County Medical Care Facility in Hancock where she had been a resident patient for the past four months. She was born on August 7, 1924, in Pewabic Location, a daughter of the late William and Mary (Rowe) White. As a child, she attended the Pewabic Schools. Eleanor moved as a young adult to the Detroit area, where she first worked in the airplane factories during the World War II and later at Reeds Bakery. Since 1985 she has made her home in Chassell. Eleanor was united in marriage to Anthony Viola on October 11, 1952, and he preceded her in death on May 29, 2001. Mrs. Viola attended the Lighthouse United Pentecostal Church in Hancock and was a former member of the FOE Aerie #382 of Hancock. Preceding her in death were her husband, her parents, and 4 brothers. Surviving are: Her children: Douglas (Patricia) Viola of Chesterfield Twp., MI Timothy (Audrey) Viola of Chassell Jonathan Viola of Chassell Kenneth (Janet) Viola of Brush Prairie, WA 11 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren Her sister: Geraldine Vettori of Hancock Numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins Funeral Services for Eleanor will be held 3 pm Sunday August 2, 2009, at the Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Chassell with Pastor Tom Griffin to officiate. Burial will be in the Chassell Cemetery. Friends may call on Sunday August 2, 2009, from 1 pm until time of services at the funeral home.
