Obituary of Ella Jouppe Hancock Ella S. Jouppe, 90, a resident of Minnesota Street, Hancock, passed away early Saturday morning, March 26, 2005, at the Cypress Manor Nursing Home in Hancock, where she has been a patient for the past 15 months. The former Ella Sophie Scheffler was born on May 3, 1914, in Gackle, North Dakota, a daughter of the late Frederick and Hilma (Haavisto) Scheffler. She later lived in Aitkin, Minnesota & Minnetonka, Minn. before moving to Hancock, Michigan many years ago. On May 3, 1940, she was united in marriage to Earl Jouppe, and he preceded her in death on October 27, 1982. Mrs. Jouppe had worked for Donnaldsons in Minneapolis for 25 years retiring in 1962. She was a member of the Old Apostolic Lutheran Church of Hancock Also preceding her in death were 1 daughter; Janet Ruonavaara; a grandson; Jeffrey Homola; 2 great grandchildren; 3 Sisters, Tillie Koljonen; Emma Tihbetts, & Flora Jewell and a brother; Arthur Scheffler Surviving are: 3 Daughters: Loretta (Robert) Ruonavaara of Hancock, Carolyn (Kenneth) Niemi of Atlantic Mine, Kathleen (George) Homola of Hancock, 2 Sons: Ronald (Grace) Jouppe of Hancock, Dennis (Anita) Jouppe of Hancock, a Son-in-law: Robert W. Ruonavaara of Kalispell, Montana 50 grandchildren 133 great grandchildren, 3 Sisters: Agnes Gabribson of Casper, Wyoming Martha (Arthur) Coenen of Great Falls, Montana Helen (Edwin) Burgstaler or Aitkin, Minn. Numerous nieces & nephews & a host of Christian friends Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1 P.M. in the Old Apostolic Lutheran Church of Hancock with Clarence Marttila to officiate. Burial to be in the Glen Haven Memorial Garden in Robbinsdale, Minnesota. Friends may call at the church from 5 to 9 PM. on Tuesday. The Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Hancock is serving the family.
