Obituary of Ellen Bjorklund Chassell Ellen T. Bjorklund, 89, a former resident of Wilson Memorial Dr., Chassell, passed away Thursday May 26, 2005, at the Houghton County Medical Care Facility in Hancock where she had been a resident patient for over the past 5 years. She was born on January 27, 1916, in Hancock, a daughter of the late August and Aino (Latva) Tapio. As a child Ellen attended the Hancock Schools. Mrs. Bjorklund had been a resident of Chassell for over 54 years prior to becoming a resident patient at the Houghton County Medical Care Facility. On August 31, 1935, she was united in marriage to Gust Bjorklund and he preceded her in death on August 13, 1980. Preceding her in death was a daughter: Lorraine Rogers; Her parents, a Sister: Elma and a brother Henry. Surviving are: 1 Daughter: Joyce (Ronald) Rimpela of Chassell 4 Grandchildren 6 Great Grandchildren and 3 Step Great Grandchildren Funeral services for Ellen will be held on Tuesday May 31, 2005, at 11 A.M. in the Memorial Chapel Funeral home of Chassell with the Rev. Peter Gundersen to officiate. Burial will be in the Chassell Cemetery. Friends may call at the Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Chassell from 10 A.M. until time of services on Tuesday.
