Obituary of Ellen Lahnala Houghton Ellen E. Lahnala, 91, a former resident of Arbor Green Apartments in Houghton passed away Thursday morning, October 28, 2004, at Portage Pointe in Hancock, where she has been a resident patient for the past year. The former Ellen E. Carlson was born on January 10, 1913, in Wells, MI a daughter of the late Anselm and Hilda (Lehtinen) Carlson, and attended the Republic schools. She later resided in Isle Royale Location, and Hurontown Loc. before making her home at Arbor Green. On May 16, 1932, she was united in marriage to Harold W. Lahnala, and he preceded her in death on January 28, 1987. Ellen was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church of South Range. Also preceding her in death were an infant son; Marvin and another son; Harold C. and 2 grandsons; 1 Sister, and 6 Brothers. Surviving are: 1 Son: Allan "Sonny" Lanala of Dodgeveille A sister: Elsie Pudas 4 Grandchildren 14 Great Grandchildren 4 Great Great Grandchildren Several nieces, nephews, & cousins Graveside services will be held Tuesday, November 2, 2004, at 11 A.M. in the Forest Hill Cemetery in Houghton, with Rev. Jamie Gallagher of Grace Lutheran Church of South Range to officiate. The Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Hancock, is serving the family. As requested by the deceased there will be no visitation.
