Elma White (Huuki)

Obituary of Elma Eleanor White Negaunee, MI Elma E. White, 87, a resident of Negaunee and former long-time Harvey resident passed away Saturday November 3, 2018, at the Teal Lake Senior Living Community in Negaunee, MI. She was born on December 15, 1930, in Painesdale, MI, a daughter of the late Jalmer and Hulda (Luoma) Huuki. Elma was raised in Obenhoff. She attended the Redridge School and was a graduate of the Houghton High School. Elma was united in marriage to Richard White for 17 years. They had resided in the Detroit area before moving to Harvey. Mrs. White had resided in Harvey until moving to the Teal Lake Senior Living Community in May 2016. Elma had worked as a sales clerk for Prange/Yonkers, retiring after 30+ years of service. Mrs. White was a member of the Apostolic Lutheran Church. She enjoyed baking, cooking and working on craft projects. She also enjoyed cross country skiing. Preceding her in death were her parents, her brother Einard, her sister Ethel Olson and several infant siblings. Surviving are: Her children: Diane (David) Husic of Kunkletown, PA Raymond (Mari) White of Madison, WI Her grandchildren: Corey Christopher Husic, Joren David Husic, Manix Fleet White and Neva May White Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins Funeral services for Elma will be held 11 am Thursday November 8, 2018, at the First Apostolic Lutheran Church of Atlantic Mine with David Taivalkoski to officiate. Burial will be in the Liminga Cemetery.
