Obituary of Elvie M. Erickson Hancock Elvie M. (Krym) Erickson passed away on March 13, 2008 at the Franklin House of Portage Pointe in Hancock after a lengthy illness. Elvie was born in Hancock on July 10, 1915. She was one of seven children born to Charles and Margaret Krym. She resided in Hancock since she was born and graduated from Hancock High School in 1933. Elvie was united in marriage to Raymond Erickson on August 28, 1937. He preceded her in death in January, 1975. Elvie was employed at F.W. Woolworth & Co., she was a housekeeper and was employed at Suomi College, all for a short period of time. She enjoyed sewing, making doll clothes, Raggedy Ann Dolls and small quilts. She also enjoyed collecting dolls. Elvie is survived by two daughters; Nancy (Jerry) Sullivan of Gwinn, Michigan and Alice (Jack) Powell of Hancock, a daughter-in-law, Marian Erickson, seven grandchildren; Margaret Sullivan, Susan Sullivan, Mike Sullivan, Tim (Dana) Ollanketo, Jeanene (Steve) Tepsa, Carissa (Dean) Katajamaki, and Darin (Janet) Erickson; eight great-grandchildren, one great great grandchild and several nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Ronald, a grandson, Ronald Jr., three brothers Einard, Norman, and Felix; and three sisters, Helen, Lenore and Irene. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday March 18, 2008, at 11 a.m. at the Memorial Chapel Funeral Home in Hancock. Friends may call one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Spring burial will be in the Lakeside Cemetery in Hancock.
