Obituary of Estelle Davey Hancock Estelle G. Davey, 95, passed away Thursday, November 18, 2004. She was a resident of Portage Pointe since it opened and previously resided at Arbor Green in Houghton. The former Estelle Gladys Curtis was born May 5, 1909 in Hancock, a daughter of the late Thomas and Ida (Wilcox) Curtis. She lived most of her lifetime in Hancock, was a graduate of Hancock Hgh School with the class of 1928, and later was a secretary of Mr. Seeber of the former Roach and Seeber Company of Houghton. On September 8, 1937, she was united in marriage to Alfred Davey. He preceded her in death on June 19, 1979. Estelle Davey was a lifetime member of the Eastern Star, the Paavola Senior Citizens Club and the XYZ Club. Her Hobbies were dancing, skating, knitting, crocheting, sewing, and tatting. Surviving are two daughters, Phyllis (David) Adamson of Hancock, Virgina "Ginger" Davey of Calgary, Alberta, Canada; three grand children, Cheryl (Greg) Dostal of Midland, MI Edward (April) Wiideman of Neillsville, WI, Susan (Scott) Hannula of Virgina Beach, VA, Seven Great-grand children Allison and Nicolle Dostal, Jessica, Loryssa and Thomas Wiideman, Joshua and Ashlee Hannula; a great great grandchild, Emma Wiideman; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Funeral services will be held Monday November 22, 2004, at 11 A.M. in the Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Hancock with Rev. Eugene Bacon to officiate. Spring burial to be in the Forest Hill Cemetery in Houghton. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 6 to 8 P.M. In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, the family suggests the memorial contributions be given to the Portage Pointe Activity Fund.
