Obituary of Estelle Marie Paredes Dollar Bay Estelle M. (Lewis) Paredes, 77, a resident of Dogwood Ave., Dollar Bay, passed away early Wednesday Morning October 4, 2006, at her home following a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on December 22, 1928, in Dollar Bay a daughter of the late Erik and Irene (Hoyer) Smith. She was a graduate of the Dollar Bay Schools. On June 8, 1949 she was united in marriage to Lewis F. Paredes. They celebrated 57 years of marriage together. Mrs. Paredes was a member of First Lutheran Church of Dollar Bay and Bay Post #6028 V.F.W. Auxiliary of Dollar Bay. Estelle enjoyed reading, gardening, cooking, baking and spending time with her family. She was a wonderful, generous, and very talented mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Preceding her in death was a son Anthony, her parents, one sister Evelyn, and two brothers, Ben and Ray. Surviving are: Her husband Lewis F. Paredes of Dollar Bay 2 Daughters: Kristine (Joseph) Green of Howell, MI Jean (Tom Parrish) Paredes of Dollar Bay 2 sons: Frank Parades of Cincinnati, OH Rick (Stephanie) Paredes of Cincinnati, OH 10 Grandchildren Meredith (Brian) Winning of Fox Lake, WI Shannon Green of Fort Wayne,IN Sean Green of Howell, MI Kyle and Kevin Paredes of Dollar Bay Brannon and Devon Paredes of Cincinatti, OH Adam and Steven Paredes of Baltimore, MD Jessica Paredes of Detroit, MI A great grand daughter: Briann Winning of Fox Lake, WI A great grandson Joshua Caske of Detroit, MI Numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins Funeral services for Estelle will be held 3 P.M. Saturday October 7, 2006 in the Memorial Chapel Funeral home of Hancock with Intern Pastor Nicholas Hopman to officiate. Friends may on Saturday from 1 P.M until time of services. Burial will be in the Forest Hill Cemetery. The family would like to thank Keweenaw Home Nursing and Hospice for the care they provided for Estelle over the last six weeks and all the family and dear friends who have been there to offer support and a caring hand over the last six months.
