Obituary of Esther Hrabosky South RangeEsther Vieno Sivonen Hrabosky, 96, passed away on Tuesday, January 11, 2011, after a short illness.Esther was born on October 16, 1914, in Painesdale, Michigan, a daughter of the late Henry and Amanda (Leinonen) Sivonen. Esther graduated with the Class of 1932 from the Painesdale-Jeffers High School.Esther moved to Highland Park, MI after graduation. She was employed at Highland Park Hospital, retiring after 30 years.Esther enjoyed playing hockey for the Painesdale Flyers girls hockey team. She was also an avid Red Wings fan watching every game.On October 22, 1960, she was united in marriage to Robert Hrabosky, the returned to South Range in 1980. Robert preceded her in death on September 30, 1985.Esther attended Grace Lutheran Church of South Range.Preceding her in death were her husband, parents, brothers August Sivonen, Edward "Speed" (Josephine) Sivonen, Sisters Irene (Clyde) Nettell, Impi (Charles) Veker, Mary (George) Luoto, Saimi (Frank) Lees, and Aili Sivonen.Surviving is a brother Waino "Bud" (Mary) Sivonen, numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews, and great- great- great nieces and nephews.A funeral for Esther will be held at 12:00 pm, Friday, January 14, 2011 at Grace Lutheran Church of South Range with Rev Nicholas Hopman to officiate.
