Esther Rimpela

Obituary of Esther Rimpela Chassell Mrs. Esther J. Rimpela, 88, a resident of Worham Road, Chassell, passed away Saturday, Dec. 18, 2004, at the Houghton County Medical Care Facility in Hancock, where she had been a resident patient since June 1, 2004. The former Esther Jennie Maatta was born in Mesnard Location, on January 22, 1916, a daughter of the late Tuomas and Maggie (Saari) Maatta and at an early age moved to the Chassell area where she had resided for most of her lifetime. She had attended the Chassell schools, and was married to Henry Rimpela on May 22, 1936, Esther was a member of the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church of Chassell. Also preceding her in death, besides her parents; were 4 Brothers; Wilbert, Charles, Peter, & Thomas and 2 Sisters; Elsie & Dorothy. Survivng are: her husband 1 Son: Ronald (Joyce) Rimpela of Chassell 1 Daughter: Shirley (Donald) Hill of Avon Lake, Ohio 6 Grandchildren 12 Great Grandchildren 5 Great Great Grandchildren 2 Sisters: Ellen Anderson of Hancock Ruth Binoniemi of Point Mills numerous nieces, nephews, & cousins Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2004, 1 P.M. at the Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Chassell with Rev. Ted Koehl to officiate. Spring burial to be in the Forest Hill Cemetery in Houghton. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 11 A.M. until time of services.
