Obituary of Ethel Olson PainesdaleEthel B. "Carl" Olson, 74, a former resident of Painesdale, passed away Friday June 17, 2011, at the Omega House in Houghton following a lengthy illness.She was born on March 28, 1937, in Obenhoff, a daughter of the late Jalmer and Hulda (Luoma) Huuki. She attended the Redridge School and was a graduate of the Houghton High School. After graduation, she moved to Hancock and worked at Wilcox Studios.On June 9, 1956, she was united in marriage to Carl B. Olson. The couple had resided in Detroit and Painesdale for over 46 years. More recently they had resided in Mohawk, at the Apostolic Lutheran Home for the Aged in Calumet, Heritage Manor in Houghton, and the Houghton County Medical Care Facility.Mrs. Olson had worked in the Food Service Department at the Houghton County Medical Care Facility, Range Finer Foods as a clerk, decorated cakes, and sold Avon.Ethel was a member of the First Apostolic Lutheran Church of Atlantic Mine. She enjoyed baking, knitting, and camping.Preceding her in death were her parents, her sons, Carl and Keith, and her brother Einard Huuki.Surviving are: Her husband: Carl B.
