Obituary of Florence Lenore Hill Poplar Bluff, MO/Baraga, MI Florence L. Hill, 81, a resident of Poplar Bluff, MO, and formerly of Baraga, MI, passed away Sunday afternoon June 2, 2013, at the River Mist Assisted Living Community in Poplar Bluff, MO, following a short illness. She was born on April 27, 1932, in Boston Location, MI, a daughter of the late Charles and Marie Juntunen. Florence attended the Boston School and was a graduate of the Calumet High School. Florence then moved to the Detroit area for a few years where she worked as a bank teller. She returned to the Copper Country where she met David J. Hill and they were united in marriage in 1959. The couple resided in the Milwaukee, WI, area before moving to make their home in Baraga in 1965. In 1999, they moved in retirement to make their home in Corning, AR. David preceded Florence in death on January 4, 2003. Florence enjoyed sewing, knitting and working with most craft projects. Preceding her in death were her parents and ten brothers and sisters. Surviving are: Her children: David (Carolyn) Hill II of Corning, AR John (Kim Forest) Hill of Baraga Renae (Rich) Rossenberg of Marquette Tania (Matt) Toss of Hawaii 10 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren Her sister: Ruth Emery of Florida Her brother: Wilbert Juntunen of Colorado Numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins Funeral Services for Florence will be held 2 pm Thursday June 6, 2013, at the Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Hancock with Rev. Bucky Beach to officiate. Burial will be in the Waasa Cemetery. Friends may call on Thursday June 6, 2013, from 1 pm until time of services at the Memorial Chapel Funeral Home.
