Obituary of Fritz Mathew Tauriainen Hubbell Fritz, M. Tauriainen, 90, a resident of Hubbell, passed away Tuesday morning November 11, 2008, at the Omega House in Houghton where he had been a resident for the past three months. He was born on March 14, 1918, in Askel, a son of the late Charles and Susanna (Hakala) Tauriainen. As a child he moved to Houghton with his family. Mr. Tauriainen has also resided in Detroit, Hurontown and for the past 41 years had made his home in Hubbell. Fritz was a veteran having served with the United States Navy during World War II. On August 26, 1950, he was united in marriage to the former Betty Tuohy in Detroit, Michigan. Fritz had worked for various construction companies in the area until retiring in 1983. Preceding him in death were his parents, his brothers Robert, Wilbert, Arthur, Bernard, and three infant brothers and his sisters Linda Morrison and Jean Tauriainen. Surviving are: His wife: Betty Tauriainen of Hubbell His children: Donna (Dale) Perreault of Lake Linden Don (Dottie St.Amour) Tauriainen of Lake Linden 4 Grandsons: Troy Perreault, Derek Perreault, Ryan Tauriainen, & Andy Tauriainen 5 Great Grandchildren: Nicholas, Shyanne, Iris, Belle, & Brady His sisters: June Manninen of Houghton Betty Fort a resident patient at the Houghton County Medical Care Facility Numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins Private funeral services for Fritz will be held at a later date at the Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Hancock with Licensed Lay Minister Clay Hilman to officiate.
