Obituary of Gary Eric Gardner Houghton Gary Eric Gardner, 39, of Houghton, MI, beloved son of Carol (Keranen-Gardner) Janisse and step-son of Mark Janisse (Hubbell) went home to be with our Lord on September 18, 2014. Gary passes away in his sleep from complications of diabetes, which he suffered with since he was eight years old. Gary is survived by his parents, one brother, Glen (Christa) Gardner of Dollar Bay; two nephews, Glen lll an Marcus; six nieces, Christina, Catie, Noelle, Grace, Joy an Faith; a grandmother, Delores Keranen of Hancock, an aunt, Edith (Dennis) Stark of South Range; and uncles David (Connie) Keranen and Richard (Debbie) Keranen of Wausau, WI; John (Lynn) Keranen of Trimountain; Robert (Karan) Keranen of Michigamee; and Joel (Jennifer Dione) Keranen of Bend , OR; and numerous cousins. Additional survivors include a special friend, Kimmy Beauchamp Caron of Calumet, and her children, Houston and Faith Hops. Gary was preceded in death by his grandfather, Wilbert Keranen; two uncles, Paul and Charles (Bridget) Keranen; and an infant nephew, Jonah Gardner. Gary worked as a cook in several area restaurants. He was an advid football fan and loved the Dallas Cowboys and the Green Bay Packers. He always had a kind word for everyone and would strike up a conversation with anyone anywhere. His love for life and people always shined through in whatever he was doing. He was love deeply by his family and many friends and will be very sadly missed. Friends may call at 12 PM on Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at the Hope Fellowship Church in Houghton, with funeral services to follow at 1 PM.
