Obituary of George Turpeinen Calumet George A. Turpeinen, 55, a resident of Calumet, Ave., Calumet, passed away Wednesday August 23, 2006, at his home following a short courageous battle with lung cancer. He was born on September 5, 1950, son of the late Arvo Turpeinen and Elma (Hakala) Turpeinen. George grew up in Detroit and lived in Calumet for the past 15 years. His life's work was loving GOD and making people happy. He enjoyed the outdoors, old comedy reruns, the guitar, and spending time with his friends, going to Burger King everyday where he said they had the best waitress's, crew, and patrons in the whole universe. George loved his family and talked about them daily, he was a good friend and will be sadly missed by many. Monday August 28, 2006, in the Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Hancock with Rev. John Autio to officiate.
