Obituary of Gerald T. Chopp Painesdale Gerald T. Chopp, 76, a resident of Painesdale, passed away Tuesday evening April 19, 2016, at the Aspirus Wausau Hospital following a short illness.He was born on November 26, 1939, in Trimountain, MI, a son of the late Mike and Martha (Skoviak) Chopp. Gerry was a graduate of Jeffers High School.Mr. Chopp was a veteran having served with the United States Army. He then moved to Milwaukee where he worked for Briggs and Stratton, retiring after 30 years. Gerry returned to make his home in Painesdale.Mr. Chopp enjoyed the outdoors, hunting & fishing. He especially enjoyed deer hunting with his brother-in-law Gerald Curry.Preceding him in death were his parents, his brother Michael and his sister Laverne Curry.Surviving are: His sister: Corrine Erickson (Shakey Joe) of PainesdaleNumerous nieces, nephews and cousins.Military Honors for Gerald will be held at a later time in the Mt.
