Obituary of Hazel Wood Rice Lake Hazel M. Wood, 64, a resident of Rice Lake passed away at home, Thursday October 30, 2008, following a lengthy illness. She was born on April 29, 1944, in Ann Arbor, MI, a daughter of the late Wesley and Hazel (Parmenter) Moore. As a child, she attended the Wayne Memorial High School. On July 13, 1963, she was united in marriage to Charles Wood. Hazel has resided in Ann Arbor, Pinckney, Howell, Pahrump, Nevada, and for over the past four years she has made her home at Rice Lake. While residing in Lower Michigan Hazel had worked for Arnold's Drug Store, Consumers Discount, May & Scofield, and Livingston Press. Mrs. Wood enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, crocheting, knitting, playing bingo, and she loved to bowl. Preceding her in death were her parents, her brother and sister-in-law, Wesley and Agnes Moore. Surviving are: Her husband: Charles Wood of Rice Lake Her children: Robert (Jennifer Smith) Wood of Pahrump, NV Frank Wood of Gregory, MI Brenda (Wayne) Daniel of Gregory, MI Her grandchildren: Geremy, Josh, Nicole, Hayley, Wyatt, & Dalton Her sisters; Mary (Ron) Wenberg of Wayne, MI Leda Moore of Westland, MI Her brother: George (Sherry) Moore, of Westland, MI Numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins Funeral services for Hazel will be held 1 pm Tuesday November 4, 2008, at the Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Hancock with Clarence Marttila to officiate. Burial will be in the Oskar Cemetery. Friends may call on Monday November 3, 2008, from 4 to 8 pm at the Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Hancock and on Tuesday from 12 noon until time of services at the funeral home.
